Join Us for the First Ever Cucalorus Kids Fest! - see schedule below!

On November 4 and 5, 2005, Cucalorus will present the First Ever Cucalorus Kids Fest, a unique experience for kids of all ages! Aspiring young filmmakers and movie buffs will enjoy a medley of age-appropriate shorts and feature-length children's films, as well as participate in film-related workshops and movie-themed events.

The celebration begins on Friday, November 4th, with a special Toddler Time, sponsored by the Wilmington Children's Museum. Most of the day is devoted to classes visiting from nearby schools. Fourth and Fifth graders will attend a variety of workshops and special screenings, as well as work to create their own movie.

By Friday evening the festivities open to the public, starting wth a dinner and followed by a screening of the feature film which kicked off the original Batman television series of the 1960s in the world famous Jengo Playhouse, 815 Princess Street. Starring Adam "Bam" West and Burt "Ka-Pow!" Ward!

Saturday, November 5, features a Day Camp for Kids. Divided into two groups, these 8 to 16 year olds will be immersed in a world of film and film-related learning activities. The educational experience includes workshops on movie costumes and movie make-up, a tour of Screen Gem Studios, making your own Cucalorus, building a collaborative storyboard, a chance to appear in a Cucalorus commercial, and the ever-popular popcorn catapult. Lunch will be served to our special guests.

The evening once again will open to the public: a dinner and membership drive will precede screenings of short films for kids, and Saturday will triumphantly conclude with a spectacular 16 mm print showing of The Black Stallion.

For our corporate friends, we're open to partnership suggestions, co-sponsorship opportunities and other creative ways to exchange resources.
