In this Southern Gothic tale, Moss is an isolated and troubled young man who meets a mysterious and beautiful hiker on the banks of the river near his home on his 18th birthday. She helps him overcome the tragic death of his mother and the shadow it has cast on his relationship with his detached father. A portrait of rural North Carolina, and lives deeply connected to nature, from a native artist and filmmaker.

Short Before the Feature: Clyde Conwell-Rose // Matthew Marino :: Live intimate musical performance of Clyde Conwell’s Rose filmed on location on the third floor of an undisclosed building within the heart of historic downtown Wilmington, NC. While describing her musical genre as “queer country,”Clyde Conwell’s work reflects the awareness, ambition, and struggle to understand how one can live freely with the pressures of political arenas, social media, global warming, mental health, misogyny, heteronormativity, Southern pride and tradition, and American culture/counterculture.
