Sexual orientation is a slippery slope in James Sweeney’s talkative and hilarious comedy. Outrageous one-liners and frank truths pop up all over this romantic journey through the hip world of young creatives in Los Angeles. Sweeney stars as Todd, an OCD gay twenty-something who finds his intellectual soul mate in a Rory, a struggling actress with her own personal challenges. Charming and playful, Straight Up is a fun and fast zip through the shifting sands of dating and sexual identity in the 21st century. This unlikely romantic comedy is full of great performances and truly unforgettable lines.
