Deaf-mute Sergey enters a specialized boarding school for the deaf-and-dumb, where he stumbles through the hierarchy of the school’s crime and prostitution network, The Tribe. After taking part in several robberies, Sergey gets propelled towards the organization’s leader, the Chief. Then Sergey meets Anna, one of the Chief’s concubines, and soon he is unwillingly breaking all the unwritten rules. Unfolding purely through sign language, without subtitles or voiceover, an unique visual journey and powerful cinematic experience.

Director Bio:
Born in Kiev in 1974, in Kiev, Ukraine, Myroslav Slaboshpytskiy graduated from the Filmmaking Department of the Kiev State Institute of Theatre and Arts. Slaboshpytskiy has worked at film studios in Kiev and in St. Petersburg. He also worked as a script writer on numerous TV films and published a number of stories, one of which won the All-Ukrainian Script Contest Coronation of the Word prize in 2000. His debut short “The Incident” has competed in about 25 festivals in 17 countries.
