Panel Moderator: David “Clammerhead” Cessna, commercial shellfish harvester and co-founder, Sandbar Oyster Company; documentary film star (along with son, Fairley Kenneth) in “Clammerhead” a short film by producer, Natalie Taylor; and host of the 2017 Cucalorus Oyster Party.

Panelists: The panelists’ “boots on the ground” roles in the NC Seafood industry, grass roots ideals, and innovative ideas, bring the audience unique perspectives on many facets of this challenging industry.

Barbara Garrity-Blake, co-author of Living at the Water’s Edge and instructor in marine fisheries policy at The Duke University Marine Laboratory

Ryan Speckman, co-founder, Locals Seafood, and graduate of the NC State University College of Natural Resources in Fisheries and Wildlife Science. Locals Seafood provides Raleigh-area restaurants and markets fresh seafood from North Carolina waters.
