Decisions! We made some! 68 of them, in fact. (CHECK ‘EM OUT!)
Comin’ your way this November we’ve got all the bird food, bigfeet, guns and air sex you can handle!
Bryan Poyser’s THE BOUNCEBACK, a lovable comedy straight from the heart of Texas kicks off our narrative features selections with slightly stalkerish and sexual antics. You’re not going to want to miss the air-sex competitions. (We might hold a few of our own….)
Another Texan & Cucalorus alumni, Geoff Marslett, will be bringing his feature LOVES HER GUN (starring UNCSA grad Trieste Kelly Dunn) to our big screens. This passionate narrative on Texan gun culture is not one you’ll soon forget.
For a quieter, more unsettling fare, BOY EATING THE BIRD’S FOOD takes the, well, err- bird’s food. This disturbing drama by Ektoras Lygizos was recently thrown in the pot as the official Oscar contender for Greece.
We’ve got plenty of options for the documentary crowd as well. Dan Krauss’ real-life tale of terror THE KILL TEAM will take you deep into the heart of the American military presence in Afghanistan and the horrors that exist there.
IN SO MANY WORDS, an intimate portrait of Raleigh-born author and therapist, Lucy Daniels, exposes the torments of a Southern Gothic childhood, and the barbaric treatment of mental institutions.
Shorts! Shorts! Shorts! Leave your pants at home. We’ve got some goodies for you! Watch an entire narrative play out in the digital glow of a computer screen in NOAH, or get your crowd-sourced experimentation on with Scott Hardison’s AMERICA 6.1. BLUE, a delightful animation from Chapman University, and several NC School of the Arts and UNCW shorts round out the list.
Get your party pants on. (Or don’t, we’re not picky!) We’ll see you in November! And don’t forget to keep checking our website for more savory selections!
