A bleak reality introduces us to six characters, all yearning to be seen and heard. Jo, a woman with multiple personas, lives in the desert and uses dating to avoid confronting her inability to be vulnerable. Janet, a wannabe Instagram star, seeks identity in others’ affection, while her boyfriend Sam remains unable to face his fears and perform as a stand-up comedian. Tom, a Russian Cowboy obsessed with Jeff Goldblum, desperately wants to fulfill his image of the American Dream. Daniel, a self-help tape maker, has never been able to help himself, and Marty, a victimizing caretaker at a nursing home, uses her profession to gain attention and the help she doesn’t know how else to receive.

Wendy McColm is an up and coming Director Writer with a mind for the surreal. Her work has been described as darkly comedic and out of this world, bringing a certain surrealism to vulnerable thoughts, feelings and characters. Her work ranges from dark comedy shorts to satirical high-fashion narrative commercials. Wendy has had her work in the TRIBECA NOW program and since then things have been taking her work around the world. Reinventing brands like H&M and Coca Cola for a more Female centric inspiring twist. Wendy plays “Neil” aka The Janet J. Birds Without Feathers marks McColms’ debut feature film.
