In 1980, Justin Fashanu overcame tremendous obstacles, and began a meteoric rise to fame by becoming the best soccer player in the UK, leading a generation of black footballers through the English league. Among those, was his brother, John, whose career and talent would eventually eclipse Justin’s, as the pressures of the spotlight and being the only openly gay soccer player at the time, began to wear on him. With unprecedented access, co-directors Adam Drake and Jon Carey have crafted a compelling, difficult family portrait that will resonate.
