Developed from of an intimate encounter with a wounded heron, this dark underworld unfolded through dense and controlled movements to the pulsing sounds of cars passing on the highway.
Rising and looking for light, she manages to jump over the bridge only to find herself in a new limbo, by the side of the highway.

Bio
Roxana Barba is a performer whose practice incorporates interdisciplinary uses of dance, film and video. She pursued undergraduate visual arts studies at La Universidad Católica in her native Perú prior to receiving her B.F.A in Dance from New World School of the Arts. Roxana performed with Mexican dance companies led by Marcela Aguilar and Alicia Sanchez and since relocating to Miami, she has been collaborating cross-disciplinarily with filmmaker Claudio Marcotulli. Roxana’s work has been presented at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Perez Art Museum, La Fabrica de Arte (Havana, Cuba) and Performance Miami International Festival. Roxana is currently one of six artists in Cucalorus Dancemakers’ residency.
