Laura, an unemployed writer in New York City, has an unexciting boyfriend and two friends who seem to have achieved all their hopes and dreams. She copes by living mostly inside her head, daydreaming about her wonderful imaginary life. The real world becomes too complicated, though, when she starts an affair with Ian, a performance artist/ barista. Laura packs a suitcase and moves to a small beach town in North Carolina, only to find that peace of mind is elusive. From a homegrown filmmaker.

Bio
Michael is the writer, director, and star of the feature film Laura Gets a Cat, which is currently screening at many prestigious film festivals around the world. He also wrote, directed, and starred in Twenty Million People, which screened at over 20 film festivals worldwide and won multiple awards. Michael grew up in Wilmington, NC and earned his BFA in Acting from UNC-Greensboro. His original plays include “The Blue Martini” and “Jersey Shore House,” which have been produced in NYC and LA. He studied improv comedy at i.O. in Chicago and acting at The Barrow Group in NYC.
