Told through the lens of Janaé and Bella, two fierce abolitionist leaders, Unapologetic is a deep look into the Movement for Black Lives, from the police murder of Rekia Boyd to the election of Mayor Lori Lightfoot. An inspirational look into the lives of activists and community organizers at the center of a global movement to re-imagine our future. Director Ashely O’Shay was a member of the Cucalorus Works-in-Progress Lab in 2017 and the film recently had its World Premiere at the Blackstar Film Festival.
