Leaders from Film Industry set to speak at NC Film Forum “State of the State”

UNCW Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Cucalorus Film Foundation are proud to announce the upcoming 2022 NC Film Forum, which kicks off Wednesday, May 11 at 5:30pm. May’s session is entitled “State of the State” and will include an in-depth look at the film productions currently underway in North Carolina as well as a forecast for the rest of the year. The featured guests for May include longtime director of the Wilmington Regional Film Commission Johnny Griffin and Guy Gaster, the Director of the NC Film Office, which is part of the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina.

 

The NC Film Forum is a 4-month professional development series providing resources to support the careers of creative professionals who make movies for a living. The 2022 NC Film Forum Series will continue the second Wednesday of each month at 5:30pm at Jengo’s Playhouse. Each session includes time for questions and comments from attendees. Stay tuned for updates about June’s guest speakers. All NC Film Forum events are free and open to the public. This event will also be broadcast live on Facebook, where viewers can send questions for our speakers in the chat. Cucalorus is also currently accepting submissions for the 28th annual Cucalorus Film Festival on FilmFreeway. The final deadline for the 11th annual Surfalorus Film Festival presented by NC Aquariums is May 19. And last but not least, the Filmed in NC program offers funding to filmmakers living and working in North Carolina for bold, original new projects with awards ranging from $500 to $3000.
