A night of music and fun at The Whiskey!
TJ Kong and the Atomic Bomb
“TJ Kong and the Atomic BombA contemporary-ancient brand of Americana similar to The Band or, at its crankiest extreme, Captain Beefheart… with a dirty Mersey Beat that’d shame the Animals.” – Philadelphia Citypaper
Elvis Division
Elvis Division formed to play at the bass players brother’s wedding. Toby, the singer, is somewhat obsessed with Elvis and they were asked to do some Elvis covers. The band has all known each other since high school and when they got together to play the music gravitated more towards post punk – which was kind of like chocolate to Toby’s peanut butter- two great tastes birthed a surprising new sound.
Skribe
Skribe travels from town to town in a blue hearse spreading their own blend of garage folk: a soulful sound that draws from roots Americana & the 60’s garage spirit. The bands’ latest release ‘Postcards’ rumbles & creaks from the blues punk growl of ‘Mayonnaise & Honey’ to the Hawaiian lapsteel laced ballad ‘Strangers’ – a tribute to The Kinks.
