Verses : Versus uses a predetermined line up of love songs to open up a stage for audiences to cross the divide between viewing and performing. Audience members can cross the perceived barrier whenever they feel an urge or connection and perform on the stage provided, choosing from the karaoke songs that have no specific pronouns present. Celebrating the queer tendencies of the south, and the kitsch nature of small town bars, the stage will be an open platform for heart-wrenching, joyful, or jealous love, whether artificial or real.
No ticket required, event is free and open to the public.
