Food and drinks will be hosted by Joe’s family. All are welcome—those who knew and loved Joe, and those who would like to learn more about his remarkable life and legacy.

Joe was a passionate champion of independent film and a supporter of Cucalorus from its very first year. An internationally renowned cameraman, lens engineer, and true legend of the craft, he worked alongside some of the greatest cinematographers and directors in cinema history, including David Lynch, Stanley Kubrick, and Terry Gilliam.

Joe believed deeply in Wilmington’s film community and devoted his career to helping filmmakers from around the world bring their stories to life. He understood the power of collaboration, the importance of craftsmanship, and the responsibility we share to uphold the art of cinema.

He would have loved nothing more than to see us come together—to reconnect with old friends, make new ones, share stories, and discover how we can continue to support one another. And for those of us who work in film, he would want us to keep pushing forward as artists and technicians, championing the creativity, curiosity, and uncompromising standards that define great cinema.

Please join us in celebrating Joe, his extraordinary life, and the community he helped build.
