CAPE FOUR is a feature length visual remix that combines four screen incarnations of Cape Fear: the 1962 film, Martin Scorsese’s 1991 remake, the recent television adaptation, and The Simpsons episode “Cape Feare.” Through aggressive re-editing, compositing, repetition, altered sound, and analog and digital image processing, over a dozen video artists reconstitute the source material into a single definitively unstable experience. Characters, performances, gestures, and visuals recur across decades.
