Sarah Moyer is an artist and filmmaker based in Virginia. As a filmmaker she directed the documentary film “Becoming bell hooks”. As a video and performance artist, she is known for works which confront the contradictions of domestic life; bliss and trauma, beauty and disgust, peace and anxiety. If she doesn’t laugh she’s going to cry.

In “Mattress” Moyer transforms a domestic object into a site of absurd revelation. A short and poignant performance, it asks whether we can find rest amid the deconstruction and collapse of contemporary values.
