Get Involved in the 32nd Annual Cucalorus Film Festival: Sponsorships, Film Submissions, and Early Bird Passes Available Now
The countdown is on for the 32nd annual Cucalorus Film Festival, returning to historic downtown Wilmington November 19–22, 2026. Whether you're a filmmaker ready to share your work, a business looking to support the arts, or a film lover eager to experience one of the Southeast's most unique cultural events, now is the time to get involved.
Recently recognized by MovieMaker Magazine as one of the "50 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee," Cucalorus continues to attract artists, audiences, and industry professionals from around the world while showcasing Wilmington as a vibrant destination for creativity and independent storytelling.
Each year, Cucalorus transforms downtown Wilmington into a hub of artistic discovery, featuring more than 100 films alongside an eclectic mix of performances, parties, conversations, and unforgettable experiences. Festival favorites like Dance-a-lorus and the Bus to Lumberton have become beloved traditions, while past festivals have welcomed internationally acclaimed artists including Isabella Rossellini and comedian Reggie Watts.
For four days, audiences can expect a dynamic celebration of film, performance, and creative expression that reflects the adventurous spirit that has defined Cucalorus for more than three decades.
Calling All Filmmakers
Independent filmmakers are invited to submit their work for consideration through FilmFreeway. With categories spanning a wide range of genres, styles, and formats, Cucalorus provides a platform for emerging and established artists alike to connect with engaged audiences and fellow creators.
The final submission deadline is June 29, so filmmakers are encouraged to submit soon.
Partner with Creativity
Businesses and organizations can support the festival through a variety of customizable sponsorship opportunities. Sponsorship packages are designed to help partners connect with diverse local, regional, and international audiences while supporting the arts and cultural vitality of the Cape Fear region.
"Sponsorship at Cucalorus is an investment in creativity, community, and the future of independent storytelling," said Development Director TG White. "Our partners play an important role in helping us provide a platform for emerging artists while contributing to the cultural and economic growth of our region."
Sponsors receive benefits that may include premium promotional placement, VIP festival access, invitations to special events and gatherings, and customized partnership opportunities tailored to their goals and budget.
Whether you're a local business seeking deeper community engagement or an established brand looking to reach creative audiences, Cucalorus offers flexible ways to get involved.
